Stylez started his disk jockey career path in high school ice hockey with Cumberland Valley High School. At the time DJ E P Stylez was known as DJ Eppley. Through innovative digital media and hours of preperation this DJ cued up hundreds of high energy and action-specific songs ready for the next stop in play. If there was a goal for CV you might often hear WhooHoo (Song 2) by Blur or if there was a fight, the standard Kung Fu Fighting track by Carl Douglas was always a click away.
At the time Stylez loved entertaining the parents, fans, students and supporting team members at Twin Ponds West and Twin Ponds East in the Mechanicsburg / Harrisburg, PA regions. It was a great success as the feedback from the parents and fans was amazing even though Stylez would claim that the audio quality coming out of their low end speakers was barely professional, he did the best he could with the resources provided. Stylez was invited back in 2005 to continue audio programming even after graduating and through references was allowed to run the audio at Hershey Park Arena for the Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey Championships in partnership with promotions and media from WSYC FM Shippensburg.

"Working with standby announcers and local news crews was a great feeling. I got to partner with recognized names in hockey and in sports announcing; the guys who fill in for the Hershey Bears, you know. It was an addrenaline rush to present a flawless performance for hundreds of people and this was the second time I had thousands of people hearing my presentations, my custom remixes and hockey mixes. It was shameless self-promotion to an extent but was one hell of an experience that motivated me to continue to persue a career in commercial media and other venues." - Stylez |
Stylez walked out of the arena that day to do home and watch the local news, there were no direct credits but in the background audio on abc27 you heard a hybrid remix of Fuel and Rob Zombie that was a favorite custom Stylez hit remix for all three of the years in the high school hockey media business.
To make the experience a much more personal one, Stylez recalls the days the Hershey bears used to play in that arena. He recalls the standing room only tickets being sold for major games (and free hershey park ticket night) and also the foods, the fans, sights, smells, energy and most of all the sound of the audio.
It was absolutely amazing. the reverb in that arena really hits home. Since the area is still in use for other events, I still go there to remember all the great times I had at that arena.

While running the college radio, working a regular job, and spinning the thirsty Thursday's, stylez worked at Phantom Shadow DJ and Entertainment (Shippensburg) as well as an occasional gig with Sound Spectrum DJ and Lighting (Waynesboro). Although the mix master skills were never hanessed by the owner Donnovan Yaukey (who always called him 'ep' stylez), Stylez had a blast running the other entertainment services provided by that very fast-growing company which provides services all over the east coast...
